I'm trying to keep an open mind about Gen. Clark, but I wish his more rabid supporters would realize how much they're hurting his credibility. I've been putting all those threads on ignore before I start disliking him.

(and some that aren't candidates)

We just have to remember that other people may have opinions that are different than ours...and try to show respect for their right to their opinions...

What I read (and how I read it) was exactly the way he explains it in his post.
He used a term that he probably bantered around a lot, and people ignored the "other candidates" part.

I completely see his point and think some people need to get a life.

I can completely empathize with what he's going through. Some (maybe in this case, but definitely so in my case) wanted to read (hear) it a certain way and others just follow the original's opinion.

It's not fun trying to show that what you have said is not what they said you have said.

And one I agree with. Ardent Clark supporter I am, I see little help in constantly berating others to support him. I feel it important people learn more about him, but sometimes it can get a little ridiculous.

Skinner made a good decision, I think. The primaries are a few years away still and if Clark is as great as I think he is, it's not going to matter if we start supporting him now.

93. I don't really know what's going on, but I like DU very much
because it gives this old lady a place to come when I feel alone and depressed and/or angry about the real world. I miss my country... the country where I was raised and where I raised my kids (and I'm a proud American).

...when you find out a majority of your audience is overweight (some even obese) children and you'd like to help them avoid a lifetime of health problems along with learning ABC's and 123's.

Not to get too serious on Skinner's hug thread, but have we become so afraid of the "PC" label that we attack others who are trying to do genuine good? For kids? Kids being poisoned by a food industry blasting them daily with advertisements for sugar-laden crap? Can Monster compete with Tony Tiger, Chester Cheetah, and the Lucky Charms Leprechaun?

It was something he didn't have to write,it is his website, but he obviously put a lot of time into explaining his position on events.

Complete agreement on every topic defeats the purpose of a discussion board. Skinner and the mods do a remarkable job at making it work pretty damn well.

166. I've read ATA and am still unsure of the exact situation
But Skinner, EarlG, Elad and each and every one of the moderators have my best wishes, hugs and total and wholehearted support. Having worked with them for several terms, I can only testify to what committed, dedicated, patient, kind, even-handed understanding and wonderful people each of the admins are.
