Looking for semi-transparent Mylar...
Howdy all. I am hoping for some help... I am looking to buy a roll or two of semi-transparent Mylar, the kind of sheeting that'll reflect ~80% or so of sunlight from passing through. I need to partly cover up two big apartment windows to help keep them from overheating the apartment now that the warm weather has arrived. I'll tape it up and take it down in october or so.

Permanent sheets and shades won't work - it's an apartment and I can't start making permanent mods ;-) I found a website a long time ago that sold exactly this type of mylar by the roll, but can no longer find it. Any DUers know of a good source? Thanks!

2. Try your local arts supply store
Or how about that stuff they use to tint windows on cars?

3. Try a shop that installs window tint on cars. It is usually held in place

with surface tension making it easy to install and remove.

4. decorativefilm.com
it is not mylar, but i think it is exactly what you neeed.

it is a vinyl film that sticks to the window by (i guess) a static cling, it can be removed very easily, and re-applied later.

you might have seen some at home-depot in the window dept (lowe's does not carry it) , but they have a very limited selection.
