Holy Shit! My Landlord Wants to Completely Renovate my New Place- Free!!
he says that the plaster is so nasty to fix, and the floors are so bad that the sanding i asked for wouldn't help much. he's talking me into turning a small room into a second bathroom and some bigass closets!
and he promised to keep the claw foot tub, because it's the whole reason i wanted to move down there.
WHOA. i'm fucking blown away. four closets! holy shit! and i can still sneak down there and use the tub at night. my head is spinning.

2. it's fucking unreal. i just wanted a little sink and the floors sanded.
but i think the walls majorly freaked him out. he's a big fan of the sheetrock. LOL.
i've never had a real bedroom closet before. not ever.

4. My landlord vandalizes my apartment on a regular basis
Cuts holes in the walls and nails drywall over them. When I asked him to paint the bathroom he says "But I would have to plaster to do that." Both my windows are broken, one is the wrong size and leaks air all winter long. He says they can't be fixed.

I'm rent stabilized and he can't wait to get rid of me.

MAKE him fix that shit. Leaking windows can cause serious health problems.

12. every landlord i had before louie was exactly like that. but he is so cool
when my mom was hospitalized a few years back, i was running up to the bronx all the time, living an insane schedule. i forgot to take care of a lot of things, including paying my rent for three months. he only asked if i was sure i could pay it all at once. he didn't even ask me why.

up here six weeks and then- move down.
shit, i'm 1/2 packed i thought i was moving in a week and a half!

10. six weeks or so. i can't believe it, he gets 400-500$ more than i pay
after he renovates. i'll have a parlour/ guest room. all new appliances. new hardwood floors. i've never lived in a modern place. i grew up in tiny bumpy walled poorly designed spaces with no closets my whole life.
wow, i 'm flipping out.

louie is a great guy, his word is gold, but yeah, i'll get a lease, too.
i cannot believe i don't have to buy the rugs and fridge and armoire i needed just for starters. it was going to run up my cards pretty bad, i'm sure. now i don't have to!
