What's the best way to cook a 2.5 lb beef brisket?
Note, assume the only ingredients I have are salt, pepper, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, curry powder, chili sauce, flour, sugar, breadcrumbs, milk, water, butter.

I do have foil.

5. The old fashioned way
brown it in a pan with a little cooking oil. Heat the oven to 325..

cut up an onion, a carrot and a couple potatos.

place meat onion carrot and potatos in a baking pan..add 2 cups of water, salt and pepper.

Cover tightly with tinfoil and bake for approximately 40 minutes per pound or two hours for that size.

Make sure you slice it AGAINST the grain when eating it....

6. Grilling produces carcinogens and can toughen the meat.

I like pan roasted with some nice new potatoes and large pieces of carrots, a little water + some wine, butter or olive oil, or barbecue sauce. You can leave the vegetables out if you don't like them. I love roasted potatoes with some herbs and maybe chives or soemthing.

Cover with foil and bake, at the end of the bake, take the foil off and sear under the broiling element in the top of the oven.

8. You're set to go.
Don't put those bread crumbs in thre, unless you want them on top of some green bean casserole, buttered.

Some people use surgar to carmelize the outside of the brisket, and then roast it, maybe with a little barbecue sauce. Serve with baked beans.

10. hmmm. perhaps I'll go to the store and get something different
and make this a sunday project. No, I don't have 4 hours. No, I don't have a smoker, or carrots, or onions, or anything else listed.

*sigh*

Oh well, perhaps some Italian sausages that are on sale in rolls.

12. You can grill it or broil it. Just slice thinly against the grain and
slant the knife so you cut diagonally... It'll be fine. :-)
