Don't you hate it when you look stupid in front of people?

So I'm in my Post Modern American Poetry class,and we're reading James Wright.
After class, I decided to talk to my professor because,hey, he's wicked awesome like that. The follow conversation took place, and afterwords, I wanted to shoot myself for looking for ridiculously retarded:

Me: You know, James Wright reminds me an awful lot of Franz Wright.
Prof. James Wright is his father.
Me: What? I thought Franz Wright's father was Franz Wright Sr.
Prof: No, Franz Wright is the son of James Wright.
Me: Wha....(I realize that I was totally disregarding the last name on James Wright). Oh lord. I'm so sorry. I look like an idiot.
Professor just chuckled at me.
ARghghhh! x(

If your professor was really cool he would have said, "That's alright, dear, common mistake."

I'm sure that would please your prof to no end.

My last stupid was dropping a big jar of pickles at Costco.

On the other hand, I probably would have split my pants. It was that kind of day.

but I do it all the time. My friends tool me too, they know I am very gullible and they are constantly setting me up. You just have to shine it on. :shrug:

so I won't.

There comes a point when you've been embarrassed so many times that you can't possibly be embarrassed ever again. So take comfort in the fact that further humiliations are inevitable. ;)

I, for instance, am an English teacher who just misspelled the word embarrassed. Twice.

...making a mistake, and you'll get to correct them. They hate that...:evilgrin:
