The thing at work was very active the last two nights.
First night did not have anything really bad happen, until the door on the inside of the breeze way slammed shut. It is on a hydraulic arm so they do not slam shut, but this thing slammed shut. There is a carpet in between that the door sometimes hangs on it and stays open. I was sitting outside that door and all the sudden the door slammed shut. It was hard enough it made the outside door right behind me shake.

Tonight was a fun filled night. Had voices, and I mean loud voices at the other end of the hall, No one was in the building but me. Could not understand what they were saying, but there was some loud talk involved. I then went into the bathroom, the rest of the building was very cool. The A/C was running, but this bathroom was very hot. You could feel the heat radiating around the door. Then as I was leaving at 11:15 PM, from down the hall I hear a wooden door slam shut, and I waited for someone to walk out into the hall but no one ever did. As I was getting in the car, a dark figure ran across the grass and went into the building through the windows, where all the VPs offices are. Needless to say I was glad to be going home.

I love my job, and I can not complain about the money. The funny thing is, I was beginning to think there was nothing there, the last three weeks when I worked late, was very quiet.

4. I remember now
you're the only person there, right. Well, it sounds like you're a little less freaked out about whatever is hanging out in your building at night.

I have no idea for helpful suggestions.

5. At 9 PM I am the only one in the building.
I am covering for a coworker of mine. and He has had the same incidences that I have experienced there at night. As well as others who have been alone in the building. Tonight is the first night for loud voices and the dark figure.

10. Rain ghost story...
Edited on Sat Apr-23-05 09:39 AM by Prag
Two weeks ago I had an experience which made me go, Hmmm.

I had decided to grill outside come heck or high water. I noticed
there were a few storm clouds overhead so I took an umbrella outside
in case of a sprinkle before I was done cooking.

I sat the umbrella in our outdoor gazebo on a lawn chair. The grill
is about 50' away from where the umbrella was in an area of the patio
which is open on top, but, protected from the wind on three sides.

I was standing at the grill when suddenly the umbrella came scooting
over the back of the lawn chair, across the patio, and brushed up
against my leg. In a direction the wind doesn't normally blow. To
get to me it had to miss numerous obstacles... Flower pots, the legs
of the gazebo and other lawn furniture.

It came directly to me! As soon as I picked it up, the clouds let loose
with a downpour.

The only conclusion I could come to is not only does somebody (or
thing) out there like me... But, it knows I don't have sense enough
to get out of the rain.

Strange happening.

7. Have you tried to engage it in any way?
The bathroom thing is weird too. Usually if ghosts, spirits, apparitions are around, it is cold. Just what I heard, not saying I belive it or not.

Ever try recording any of it?

Also, I would put in for combat pay!

26. The one thing I forgot to mention
We have a hard time keeping the temperature regulated in our room. The heater keeps getting turned on. and then we will have a freezing cold hit and the air conditioner is down to 60. We have tested it and I left the air conditioner on when I left one night and when I got in, in the morning it was on 80 and the heater was on. We have to lock the door due to the high dollar equipment we have.

11. Freaky.
Years ago I had a friend that lived across the street who became very ill and was subsequently diagnosed with spinal meningitis. After she got better I would spend the night at her house but could never sleep because of strange noises (thumps/stuff being dragged down the hall, water faucets running in the middle of the night) and each time I mentioned this to her parents they would call me silly then walk away from me. So one day while they were gone we were using their yard as a hiding place for playing kick the can. Me and a friend were hiding under her bedroom window when suddenly the damn window started opening. We both freaked and as soon as the family returned home we told the father and he once again just laughed, albeit nervously, and walked away. Another time I noticed the car was gone but thought I heard the TV on so I went to the front door and knocked to see if my friend was home. As I got closer it sounded like two people having a very loud conversation, so I rang the doorbell but no one would answer. Same response from the parents when they got home that day. (btw the TV was not left on). Another time a bunch of us neighborhood kids were playing at her house when suddenly we heard what sounded like the bathroom faucet come on but when we examined the sink it was bone dry.

It wasn't until a few weeks later I noticed the Holy Water in her bedroom closet. About the same time the For Sale sign went up in front of the house.

Sorry to ramble but your story reminded me of those occurrences.

p.s. I mentioned the illness because that was her parents explanation for her illness. Turns out they had heard the noises too and were convinced she was possessed.

if she was possessed the things would not happen when they were not home. That house was what was possessed.

14. You need to start a dialogue with the ghosts. Ask them questions about
who they are... what they're doing and do they want anything from you in particular.

You have to appreciate some cool ghosts! I feel sorry for them, stuck between lives.

22. It is not old.
Late 1970's office building. But where Lubbock sits there were a lot of wild and violent times on the plains due to Indians and the Comancheros.
The Palo Duro Canyon is only 100 miles or so from here and that was their hide out.

28. I just signed my friend grandmateri up, I am "Kota" I have many
weird experiences. The age of the building has nothing to do with it. I have lived in older homes, newer homes, makes no difference.I get freaked a little bit but most times my gut feeling and instinct is I have connected with something or someone one. There never seems to be a sense of danger for me but sometimes its on their end I sense danger.

everything is recorded, believe me.

Check the county's Recorder of Deeds - the history will be there, along with something called a Grantor-Grantee Index. Lots of information there.

LOL, sorry, I'm not trivializing what you have at work. there are many things that are unexplainable. When people say they don't believe in a "supernatural" I have to laugh. To each their own, but something is going on in another place that we can't really see.
If you want them to go away, just tell them to leave. Or tell them to lighten up because you don't like it. They might listen.
