I'm glad Matthews shut up for a few seconds to let him finish his sentences. I was satisfied with his explanation of the war vote, and I'm glad he got to say that the way Ashcroft is interpreting the Patriot Act is reprehensible. (They didn't go into the Homeland Security vote.)

Maybe when there are fewer candidates, he'll get more time in the debates to explain his positions. I think he has a broad appeal. I like the "fighting mood" he's been getting into lately--that will help give his campaign more attention. Even so, he can phrase things in a positive light, to persuade and not just rile. That's important to the fencesitters.

We at DU love the fighters, so Dean's very popular with a lot of us. But I think we should all take another look at Edwards; he can put people in their place when they deserve it, can formulate what's wrong with current policy--and, most importantly, can follow up with what he will do to FIX it.

I've been for your husband since the beginning. Please tell him that his reluctance (or even refusal) to bash other Dem candiates is a very GOOD thing, and he will certainly benefit from it!
