you guys won't believe this--or maybe you'll tell me "I told you so!"
Saturday I was supposed to take the Foreign Servic exam. I arrived 45 minutes early at the test site-the campus of my former university--and there were 10 others waiting with me. 8am, and..nothing. We had the same info on our admission ticket letters, no emails or calls saying otherwise...so one guy called the 800 number, and then we were told "the location was changed at the last moment" :wow: It was only a 5 minute walk at most across the campus, and we showed the test personnel our letters and explained what happpend. So she was nice and knd enough to call DC again..and word came down that we couldn't take the exam :( Even worse was the response I got when I called myself:"only 15 % of the testers pass, so you would't have done well enough anyway..." The NSA treated me like I was at a resrt last year (I took their Japanese eama nd passed), so maybe I'll take that again since it' s been over a year. But I didnt expect the State Department to tret me and 10 others like SHIT..or should I have been prepared for that?

1. Why would we not believe that?
I'm sorry that happened to you (and the others who were prepared to take the test), Zech, but consider the source, and consider this: you now have more time to consider whether you want to work for the government during this particular time in history.

2. Read my lips. "It's the government!" They are required to...
be rude and inefficient at all times (Or at least it seems so sometimes).

4. Sadly, it seems you're right, BikeWriter.
But the government will play hell changing my perhaps misguided belief that _they_ work for _us_.
