I Got This Baa Baa Black Sheep Quilt. It is hanging in MY baby's Room Now!

I assume I was supposed to be the black sheep. I still am:

She also wrote and illustrated a book for me. Here are a few pages:

She died when I was young. I think it it too cool that I still have them and they are in good shape!

Do you have anything like this around from your loved ones?

1. Amazing.
What a wonderful gift she left you. AND she mentioned my favorite tree from the hug a tree thread, the Catalpa!

My mother threw away so many things but I would never have had anything that special. I am awaiting grandchildren someday to make things for.

Just wonderful, that is such a gift.

3. WOW!
I'm impressed. Your Grandma was an excellent artist. Those trees are first class representations of their varieties. And that quilt is so absolutely precious!! You are so fortunate to have these things.

6. How very cool!
I have a quilt from my paternal grandmother, and I also have her old 1950s formica and chrome kitchen table.

I have wood carvings from my maternal grandfather, and ceramics from my maternal grandmother. I also have some old birthday and Christmas cards from her, and a heavy canvas tote bag she made for me to carry library books when I was about 12.

I have a few other things too.

14. Your grandma reminds me of my grandma...
My grandmother in Texas (my dad's mom) was an amazing woman. She was an artist and painted; She also made all of the grandchildren (14 of us)our own quilt. One other thing she used to do was to make miniature furniture out of tin -- the tin from cans. They really are amazing and very detailed.

You have got some great treasures from your grandmother...

27. Mine too
Mine took up painting late in life. I have a tiny oil painting of flowers above my make-up table. My mom has more that I hope to get some day.

I also have some of her jewelry including her wedding ring. It is so tiny it hardly fits on my pinky.

I miss you Grammy!

Funny, these things didn't mean that much to me until I had my daughter. Now I have a book about me and my grandma who she'll never know taking a walk when I was a biy to read to her.

Incidentally, she also made my sister one that I have here to scan in. I have been making copies for my dad. She was his mother.

Some days I even wonder if a children's book publisher would be interested.
