Anyone live near Claremont, CA?

Hey I just got accepted to go Grad school at Keck Graduate Institute in Claremont, CA!

Does anyone live near there? What's it like? How is crime? My girlfriend doesn't want to move there because she thinks (since it's so near LA) that we are going to get robbed at every street light. How's the job market? The other school I'm looking at in Tucson,AZ has no jobs at all available. Where are good places to live? What's rent like out there? You've got to remember that I'll be moving from Wisconsin so rent is crazy cheap. Any other suggestions? Anyone have a room for rent :)?

I think I'm going to try to fly out there next weekend if I can get a loan to get a plane ticket. Hey maybe if I come out I could finally meet a fellow DUer and you could show me around :)

The colleges there are fabulous. Yes, there is crime in the Pomona area, but the town of Claremont is almost completely a college community.

If you wish to be shown around the area...(i went to college out there myself) I would be happy to take you around.

on edit...might be better if you wait until the weekend of the 7th..I have a VERY busy weekend this coming weekend

I told the other school I was accepted to KGI and they offered me more money:) So as soon as I visit Keck I'll make my choice. I should be comming out there this week or the next, I just have to whore some money.
