Men do hold hands in public.
I remember seeing something on tv about American propaganda (towards Iraqis) during the war. To sway Iraqis to our side, our military created some visual propaganda that showed two men holding hands (this propaganda was created by natives of the ME). Our military refused to use it because it offended their sensibilities.

I'm at work and didn't see it. National TV you say?

Bu$h will literally do whatever he has to do to curry favor with them. For all of the Fox news crowd who will not accept 'murka as anything less than the supreme voice on everything, it must be difficult to see our leader reduced to this. And reduced he is.

Is that it's all right for two men to walk down the street holding hands, but try showing any public affection to your girlfriend in public and see what happens.

Nine years ago, when I lived in the south of Spain, I ended up with a Moroccan girlfriend who was studying in Spain. She went back to Morocco after her semester ended and I took the ferry over to visit her. She met me at Tangier and we took the train back to Rabat, the country's capital, which is three hours inland.

While on the train, I had my arm around her and was giving her kisses (not making out) and the conductor ordered me to stop, which I did. But he wasn't happy until I took my arm from around her. Meanwhile, this guy enters our compartment and is openly trying to sell me hashish, and there was no problem with that.

And once we got to Rabat, I noticed all these men walking around holding hands, but male/female couples were not holding hands, and the man was usually walking a few steps ahead of his companion.


And that's considering that Morocco is the most liberal Arabic country, so they say.

My girlfriend was very liberal, which is why she would always tell me she would never date a muslim man.
