My best friend's husband has inoperable cancer .... just found out
please, if you pray, meditate, believe in karma .. send some thoughts their way. Just a few years ago their 17 year old daughter was murdered. My friend said "for the record, I don't think I can handle this one" ...

16. I will pray
I lost my daughter to cancer, she was told the day she went in for female surgery, when they looked at her lungs, they couldn't operate. She lived from June 6, to August 24,2005.

I know how the lady feels, it is hard , some days will be ok,and just when you think it is getting better, the thoughts will come again.

I will pray for the husband and the wife. And thanks for all the prayers sent up from this board for my daughter.

17. my deepest condolences to you and your family
in your loss. Cancer is so awfully devastating. Lost my mother to colon cancer a few years ago. The pain diminishes in time, but the emptiness never goes away. These two are so close and have come through so much together. I don't know how she'll make it through this should it not be treatable.

So sorry! It does seem like some of the best people go through more than most!
May I ask what kind of cancer he has?
My prayers are with your friend and you! It's best to just take one day at a time now!

22. It sounds like it might have started
as lung cancer (?) and has moved to lymphs and is now showing on / near his windpipe.
------------
from her letter ..

needs to confirm what particular kind to know what chemo and radiation to give as it is inoperable! It started from a tiny spot on his lung which didn't grow but jumped over to I think he said a lymph node beside his windpipe. Right now after about 5 weeks Grant has gone from 1 morphine twice a day to 3 twice a day for the pain in his legs and so he can still walk a bit.

======
I will be calling her tomorrow , I would be of no comfort to her tonight. I am just too upset for them. I did email her and told her I'd talk with her in the morning.

19. Terrible.... What pisses me off is the state of health care in the US
Edited on Wed Apr-27-05 09:14 PM by valis
It is so difficult to see a doctor that people wait until it is too late. And there is almost nothing for preventive care...

It is so unfair that people that have already lost so much have to face even more loss.
