One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer (Some may know it better as "The House Rent Blues")

--by George Thorogood & the Destroyers--

Do I have bad taste in music or something?

1. Yes

Just kidding, although I prefer John Lee Hooker's version.

2. "House Rent Blues."

House RENT, as in "I didn't have enough money to pay the rent, so out the door I went."

Yes, you have very bad taste. Northern redneck music. But I like it too, just what you want to listen to on a methamphetamine binge at a nascar track.

5. Thanks. I fixed it. Don't know what came over me?
I kind of consider myself a northern redneck. Never much cared for crank though.

4. Good Old Three Chord George.............
I do like some of his stuff, especially his cover of Who Do You Love, but it always amazed me that he got as far as he did.

6. Its not the guitar work that gets to me
Edited on Thu Apr-28-05 09:19 AM by NNN0LHI
Its the way he uses his voice to tell the story. It grabs me. If I am in my car and late for an appointment I just can't turn it off. I can't say that about any other song I know of.

18. I like jazz. Just wouldn't want a steady diet of it
Variety is the spice of life. And by the way, 50 Cent didn't impress me. Listened to him for the first time today. Listening to Audioslave now. Audioslave is good.

9. That song is not realistic.
Anyone who sits around and mixes bourbon, scotch and beer could still probably play guitar better than George Thorogood.

10. Did you know he almost replaced Mick Taylor in the Stones?
Suicide would have been preferable.

12. Peter Frampton was also being considered to join the Stones...
That could have been interesting because Frampton can play!!

11. Man, I love that song!! In college, we took the term "gassed" and
used it for "being drunk". Not that I ever had cause to use it, but many of my friends did.

15. Dunno why. But I must be old, because
I remember when his band was called the Delaware Destroyers, not just "Destroyers."

Used to see him in bars on South Street in Philly, way, WAY back when.
