if the hate radio listeners have succesful high paying jobs with families, how they find time to listen to hate radio?

Our auto mechanic, whom we've known for 25 years (we drive handmedown cars and trucks, so we see our mechanic often).

He is a wonderful man, absolutely honest, loves his work, owns his own shop in an out-of-the way location where every season is beautiful, works at his own pace, has more work than he knows what to do with. A quiet person, devoted to his family, much respected by everyone who deals with him. An admirable guy.

BUT ........ Rush, etc., blares out of the speakers in the garage, all day, every day. I will never understand.

Friend 1: Pure Nazi. Is a German re-enactor. Speaks German, likes German military history. Loves guns. Some college, not graduated. Fairly smart. White, Male, Divorced

Friend 2: Business Degree. Plays in band, has long hair, but is strictly establishment. Is socially fairly Liberal, but often cites Limbaugh. Less of a love of guns and nazis. More of a tax cutting right winger. White, Male, Married, no kids

Friend 3: Complete windbag. No college, barely made it out of high school. Works for US Govt (picks up towells in a gym). Does nothing but whines about Dems and loves Repukes. Social Conservative. Does hate big business (because he worked at Wal Mart). White, Male, Never had sex

Friend 4: Good guy, smart. Like him. Limited college. Worked his way into decent job via hard work. Not sure all his views. White, Married, Kid

That's what I can remember thus far.

I used to listen to this guy on my commute home. I have always felt the best way to know your foe is to hear what he is saying. Why would I listen to a liberal talk show? I am the choir, I don't need preaching to! I want to hear what the other side of the fence is talking about.

They come in all colors, creeds, shapes, and sizes. You never know when one is going to start quoting Rush, someone you never thought would go there. In the workplace, where I am most exposed to them, I just keep my mouth shut. :grr:
