I've decided to listen to NOTHING but "Lifestyle" Music from now on.
I feel that I need these tunes to help cultivate my whole "fun in the sun, coconut rum" image that I'd like to be known for, from here on out.

I can't wait to listen to my new compilation with "My Ol Lady":

"Margarita-ville" by Buffet
"Jamaica in the Moonlight" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
"The Pina Colada Song" by Rupert Holmes
"Kokamo" by the Beach Boys
"Id Really Love to See You Tonight" by some coked up 70's guy.
"Tequila Sunrise"
etc,etc.

What do you think of my new image? I even have pith helmet and a bamboo chair.

What are some other "Lifestyle" songs I need to complete the transition?

1. "Booze Me Up and Get Me High," by Ween
Not so much fun in the sun, but all about drinking.

2. "Carmelita" is the perfect anti-"lifestyle" song.
Thanks to the acerbic wit of the late Warren Zevon.

Well, I hear mariachi static on my radio
And the tubes they glow in the dark
And I'm there with her in Ensenada
And I'm here in Echo Park

Carmelita, hold me tighter
I think I'm sinking down...
And I'm all strung out on heroin
On the outskirts of town

Well I'm sittin' here playing solitaire
With my pearl handled deck
The county won't give me no more methadone
And they cut off your welfare check

Carmelita, hold me tighter
I think I'm sinking down...
And I'm all strung out on heroin
On the outskirts of town

Well I pawned my Smith Corona
And I went to meet my man
He hangs out down on Alvarado Street
At the Pioneer Chicken stand

Carmelita, hold me tighter
I think I'm sinking down
And I'm all strung out on heroin
On the outskirts of town

Carmelita, hold me tighter
I think I'm sinking down
And I'm all strung out on heroin
On the outskirts of town

12. "Afternoon Delight" fits almost every Lifestyle song seeker.
It's got a hint of disco and industrialism (what with the "rocket" sound), but it is pretty liquor soaked, so it may fit right in.

24. it's like obscentiy standards- you will know it when you see it.
Imagery to look out for includes:

Tropical liquors or cocktails
Sandy beaches
Tales of coked up, long-haired U.S. expatriots visiting Mexico or a tropical island.
Warm, soft breezes of all kinds.
Clothing such as flip flops, panama hats, white blazers (must be worn w/o a shirt underneath)
General 70's era tacky decadence.

Are you with me? Are you ready for the lifestyle revolution?

35. "Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck, of course!
Edited on Fri Apr-29-05 10:32 PM by fudge stripe cookays
The wind blew some luck in my direction
I caught it in my hands today
I finally made a tricky French connection
You winked and gave me your o.k.
I'll take you on a trip beside the ocean
And drop the top at Chesapeake Bay
Ain't nothing like the sky to dose a potion
The moon'll send you on your way

Moonlight feels right
Moonlight feels right

We'll lay back and observe the constellations
And watch the moon smilin bright
I'll play the radio on southern stations
Cause southern belles are hell at night
You say you came to Baltimore from Ole Miss
Class of seven four gold ring
The eastern moon looks ready for a wet kiss
To make the tide rise again

We'll see the sun come up on Sunday morning
And watch it fade the moon away
I guess you know I'm giving you a warning
Cause me and moon are itching to play
I'll take you on a trip beside the ocean
And drop the top at Chesapeake Bay
Ain't nothin like the sky to dose a potion
The moon'll send you on your way

Worth it simply for the xylophone solo, my friend.

:D
