Phil Lesh, from time to time, sounds like Ted Nugent

I'm just saying.

2. Really? I'm not getting a link.
WHat did he say?

At least the Rex Foundation actually DOES shit with their money, from bankrolling new composers to fighting rainforst despoilation. If he's not 100% flaming liberal, that's okay with me; he's still one of the top twenty bassists of all time, IMO.

5. I think he's referring to his voice, not what he has to say.
Politics hasn't even entered the conversation, they're just talking about music and band history.

7. Right
When Nugent isn't screaming at the top of his lungs and just speaking. It sounds familiar.

6. No no no his VOICE his speaking voice
From time to time (to me-in my humble opinion) sounds like talks like Nugent. That is what I meant.

9. I understand. My brother was a huge Phil fan.

Funny story. Not really funny more cruel but here goes.

My brother used to run a GREAT pizza place. Best I have ever had anywhere. My friends and I used to hang out there and all but one of us worked there. Not a chain, one store only kinda place.

One summer afternoon we were sitting around "partying" and got hungry so we called and had a Large STromboli (best ever) delivered. Well we got a strange, actually I got a strange idea.

I called my brother. "Hey are you listing to the radio?"
"No why?"
"Oh man Phil Lesh is dead"

Complete silence on the other line this was 1987 or 88.

"God man I have to go" he hangs up.

When another of our friends delivered the strom we were busting out laughing thinking about what my brother must be going through. He said that my brother was losing it, totally beside himself. We told him to tell my brother that we made it up. My brother called back and cussed me out so bad that he almost got fired-customers were in the shop.

God that was funny.

10. thats mean...
but I love it.

That too reminds me of a story. My freshman year of college we were tripled in a dorm room because of over-crowding. So with about a month left in the year my one roommate and I got an idea.

We found some official letterhead and typed up a letter to my 3rd roommate saying that she has been de-tripled and must move to this other dorm across campus within 2 days or her housing contract would be canceled. She freaked cause she didn't want to move and we clued her into the joke just before she started crying. She was pissed but later agreed that it was a good prank

13. Very cruel.
I was told about Jerry by a very mean coworker. She walks up to my desk & says, "you are like a dead hear aren't you?"
When I said yes, she says, "Well I just heard Jerry's dead, no great loss."
I fell to pieces.

14. I also was informed by a co-worker
And I immediately took the rest of the day off, and went into the city (Philly) where hundreds of us gathered to mourn.

Personally, second worst day ever. The first being when I got the call from my grandma that my mother had been killed in a car accident.

Leave the bombs to Phil :nuke:

15. I got a call from a guy that I had turned on to the Dead and had taken
to his first show.

I thought he was messing with me at first until I turned on the radio.

16. Weird coincidence
Myself and my buddies (the same ones) were in the same restaurant in Richmond when we heard that Jerry had died and Cobain had killed himself-there was another celebrity death that we found out about there but I forget who it was.

meant when they said they felt like they had been kicked in the gut.
