need computer software advice

I downloaded a huge Kazaa movie file that was an "xvid" .avi file.

It won't on either of my movie players. I have downloaded codecs in the past, but it's not apparent which codec or software I need.

I thought I'd ask around here for some advice before I deleted it.

2. google on XviD codec

And you get the download of the codec here for one http://www.divx-digest.com/software/xvid.html

Or google on XviD avi and you get a couple programs that convert it to a mpeg.

Up to you. Also virus check all downloads :)
