Seriously,

I could have saved myself lots of Grief if my ex had bolted before
the wedding. She was from a Republican family and pretended to
be liberal. I swear that she thinks that Mt. Rushmore was formed
by nature and God. Also she likes Celione Dion, and if Ms. Dion is
not a threat to national security I do not know what is.

It's all water under the bridge now, as I am very happily married to husband #2, but I was stunned when #1 told me, after several years of a difficult marriage, "I don't think I ever really loved you." And he said he thought about calling it off before the wedding, but he didn't want to hurt my feelings. Whaa? As if I couldn't have ever recovered from the blow. Well, an awful lot of things were all about him and I don't miss that at all.

when my MiL to be wanted a bigger reception than I did. :eyes:

I had never wanted a big fancy, wedding. In fact, the type of wedding with a reception that went late into the evening, scared the crap out of me. I was fine with having home made finger sandwiches and cheese balls in the church multipurpose room. Then she threatened to boycott the wedding.
Then she offered to pay for a reception at one of the nicest hotels in the area.
The I changed the time of the wedding and scheduled the meal at lunchtime at a supper club immediately after the ceremony. We had to be out before they started serving dinner. Everyone complained about that.
Then the day arrived and people liked my plan after all. They got lots of good food because the supper club served them full dinner portions at regular menu price. There was no waiting around and people were free to do what they wanted with the evening. My husband and I were especially greatful for being able to do what we wanted.
I am a little resentful though about the whole situation and that my husband didn't fully back me up.

My MIL said that she'll help, but in the end didnt do a damn thing.. Stated she didnt have the money and bla bla bla.. The real reason was because I wasnt getting married in her freeper church and we werent living in the "right" way.

I had an excellent wedding and really didnt need her to help, but when her and my fil kept saying 'we'll help with the cost of things' and never did kinda made me mad.

or was it her 4th...I think her 5th one started after ours did..at any rate, it should have been a BIG clue to me..especially when I found out several years later that my daughter's hair color and facial features came from the guy that my M-I-L had an affair with (as in the affair guy was my husband's real father)--and to think that whole family stuck their nose up at ME becuz I was a--gasp---YANKEE. Thank God they are all my EX in-laws!

That leech hung on to my brother for dear life and wouldn't let go for 7 long years. He finally caved in and married the piece of trash in an elaborate wedding that we planned (for my brother's sake only) and that my brother and mom financed to the tune of $40,000. A year-and-a-half later, the bimbo suddenly walks out for some "hot, loaded 35-year old" guy she met on the internet. Turns out internet boy was a 25-year old kid living at home with his mom. HA!! She was back within a week crying like a baby and begging my brother to take her back. LOSER!! The divorce should be final within a couple of months.

but if we were planning to and if he had run off, i wouldn't have my kids.

and me and the ex actually get along better now than ever, so it's all ok.

the wedding (they could see the handwriting on the wall), but I would have none of it at the tender age of 18!!

It would've saved me A LOT of grief with my step son and his ex. I don't know if I could ever date a guy with a kid again solely on the hunch that there's a psycho ex in the shadows. (My ex is a harmless fly on the wall that never caused us ANY problems)

I know theres a lot of good guys with kids out there, as my husband is one, but his ex has caused A LOT of tension.. I even considered divorce just so I dont have to deal with her and her serious issues.

Then we got my freeper repuke in-laws who says we're going to hell because we both had kids out of wedlock and had "marital relations".. not only did we have 'marital relations' we were doing this with me on birth control. OH NO THE HORROR. DAMN ME DAMN ME DAMN ME.

there are times when i just want to kill her (and i know that the feelings are not mutual!!)

But I wish one of us would have "run away" 10 years ago when she first started treating me like crap. It would have saved me 10 years of bullshit.

She's a lazy unproductive, self-absorbed, leech and he won't divorce her. She doesn't work (not in a dozen years now), doesn't cook, doesn't clean. Doesn't even make herself attractive, doesn't take care of herself at all (diabetic chain smoker, who refuses to excersize, sleeps till noon every day never walks any further than the bathroom.

Too sad, he complains, but nothing more, fortunately they do not have children.
