I just spoke to Midnight's mom

I posted earlier about my neighbor having to put their dog, Midnight, down yesterday.

She said he knew the end was coming, and he held out for the family.

Normally when he goes to the vet, he gets agitated and makes a scene.

This time he was eerily quiet, and at the vet's he was awake until the entire family hugged, rubbed him and said their goodbyes.

He then shut his eyes, and the vet applied the drug. He never made another sound.

That dog had a lot of class.

We had to put her down as well when I was like 13. One of the worst times in my life. I still miss one of the gentlest, wisest creatures I've ever known.

3. Oh, it's such a heartache!

That last trip to the vets hurts so much! I feel for them, their loved friend tried to make it easy, but it's always hard regardless.

10. My dog is now 11 and is starting to show signs of aging...

he is a border collie and has been so active for so long. It is hard to see him slow down. We have a mobile vet in the Los Angeles area who will now come to your house. When it comes time for my friend to leave us, we are going to have it done at home. My dog hates the vet and I hate the thought of his last memory being that cold, steel table that he despises so much.

Your story about Midnight brought tears to my eyes. I am a sucker when it comes to dogs.
