You have GOT to see this. What is this world COMING to???
Edited on Mon May-02-05 08:40 PM by SmileyBoy
Preteen pop culture has reached an all-time low. I was recently sparking up a joint (:smoke:) and watching SpongeBob (which is on Nickelodeon), when I saw a commercial for this:

Now, you think those "Bratz" toys that teach girls to dress like hos are bad?? Presenting BRATZ BABYZ.

Here's the skanky-ass snank clothes these baby dolls are supposed to wear:

Now we're getting into the idea of dressing toddlers up like little skanks and hos?? This is awful.

I mean, it's real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace. They'll talk to ya and talk to ya and talk to ya about individual freedom. But they see a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em.

And little boys' style undies on baby girls? Pretty twisted.

15. My daughter has a few Bratz dolls
but they don't come with giant safety pins, none of them have chains around their neck, and they don't own fishnet anything.

Odd that the Bratz Babyz are worse than the Bratz.

And btw, my daughter dresses very appropriately for a 10 year old. To her they are just dolls she hardly even plays with.

27. Huh? Is your objection to the fact
that he watches Sponge Bob? (I do, too.) Or that he's outraged at these revolting, kiddie-porn dolls? (I am too.)

Plus, don't forget that it's becoming axiomatic that those who most frequently advise others to "get a life" are most frequently those without much of one themselves.

19. Should rename "Bratz"
"Slutz".

No...because some people use "slut" as a positive political statement (for reasons I think are stupid, but that's beside the point).

How about "Skankz"?

25. Call them "skankz" and watch that word be reclaimed.
It's not about words, it's about word associations and lifestyles. Any word can be good once it's associated with a lifestyle that's considered desirable.

39. The story, as I remember it.
Edited on Mon May-02-05 09:35 PM by Pithlet
Was the company that owned the rights to the Hello Kitty License gave the vibrator company permission as it was to be marketed as a massager. And that was really how it was packaged. They yanked the rights when they saw that it was turning up at sex shops, and made the company destroy the molds. Thus, the untimely end of the Hello Kitty Massager/Vibrator. Let us mourn.

Barbie sales are down. Despite the overemphasis of boobs, long legs and small waists, at least Barbie looks like a human being. Guess that's the problem.

I don't know if you've looked at The New York Times today (Monday, the 2nd), but there was an article about Paris Hilton's marketing of herself (recording contract, despite the fact she can't sing, etc.). :puke:

And now this. I feel sorry for anyone with a kid these days. It's like the planet has been taken over by especially creepy corporations.

37. Toddlers in thongs and fishnets..
Wow, and we wonder why so many little girls are brutally raped and murdered? This is almost as bad as those kiddy pageants like Jon Benet Ramsey was active in before her death. I guess our commercial culture isn't going to be happy until kids lose their childhood completely.

43. I thought child prostitution was illegal in
this country. That looks like some sort of new propoganda to make toddlers want to dress like prostitutes. What is our government planning on doing now? Hustling baby girls in the streets? I could just see some female toddler using the "bobble head" move on Springer now. :puke:

Sweet, innocent, little cuddly animals to take your mind of the fact that your daughter is playing dress-up with stank-ho dolls. I saw a commercial for these things the other day and almost threw a shoe through the TV. It's disgusting.
