Crazy things we did while young
We used to catch on a line alligators. They would tug and play around with us a while then swim off. We did not use hooks but rather we would tie fish heads to the ends of string or rope. In this pic it looks like we were using fishing line which I am sure the alligator just bit right through and then swam off.

I remember well walking in bayous around my grandparents house just watching the alligators devour nutria. They lived in Sulfer, LA but had some land down on the coast. I am certain this was taken there. My Uncle Jack was a real cajun!
