So my boss was racially profiled last night....
My boss is an American Indian. Last night, he was walking home and happened, for some unknown reason, to zigzag while walking on the sidewalk to his apartment, and a cop jumped out of the bushes and stopped him from entering, then proceeded to browbeat him for twenty minutes for no fucking reason....I guess his pretense was that his irregular walking pattern made the cop think he might be a drunken burglar.

The weirdest thing about this story is that my boss, a couple years ago, was running down the street to return a video to Blockbuster on time (and he's an athletic guy, too, who enjoys running.)

A cop stopped him and questioned him for over an hour and was prepared to arrest him on suspicion of burglary...or for just having dark skin.

The kicker? It was the same cop, both times.

I am not making this shit up.

2. Happens all too often here
The American Indians around here have a "joke" about the Minneapolis police cars having 3 engines....one under the hood and two injuns in the trunk.

6. I was really embarrassed when he told me the story.
It's like...what can a white dude, from arelatively comfrotable upbringing, say about shit like that without being presumptious or condescending?

I'm fucking mad right now, and I don't even like my boss that much. It's just that nobody should have to go through that shit.

7. Encourage him to file a complaint against the officer
If there are enough complaints on file, then something may be done.

He's lucky he didn't have his knife roll with him. He'd probably have been shot like that guy who was brandishing fork under the el tracks by Wrigley Field a couple of years back. ;-)

14. The officer in most states must be commissioned by
a licensing board usually run out of your state capital. He needs to not only contact his local police department but also contact the licensing board. Tell him to send the letters certified mail(as proof that they have been received) and to do followup. The department may not want to deal w/ the asshole but the state isn't so happy to find out that an officer is abusing his power. They may decide to revoke his license.

16. This is for the assholes at CU:
Yes, honestly, there was cop hiding in the bushes outside my boss's apartment. Cops do this shit. Just cuz you're white and have never experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Yes, I've read my share of somewhat bizarre "encounter with a freeper" stories that I don't always believe, but this actually happened.

Yes, this actually happened.

Do I need to say it again?

Yes, I am a liberal, so everything that I say is in doubt, unlike your leaders who never lie, exaggerate, or just make shit up.

But this story is true.

Yes, you are all dickless fuckwads with far too much time on your hands and, in all likelihood, excessive body odor. And you probably have "backne," too.

Yes, you must go fuck yourselves now.

PS:
And.
Your.
Ideology.
Is.
Shit.

inquiring minds want to know...

and from what i have observed, it seems like the more liberal a city is, the worse the cops are

LA and NYC anyone?

the milwaukee PD, for what it's worth, is terrible

19. Yes...they seized on the phrase "And a cop jumped out of the bushes"
in my OP as a talisman to ward away credibilty.

I admit, "jumping out of the bushes" sounds a bit melodramatic, but there was a fucking police officer, hiding in the bushes outside my boss's apartment. I asked him about it again today, because of the fucknobs over at CU raised such a stink about it, and he told me, that, yes, the guy was hiding behind a bush, as if he had been stalking him.

So, to the good folks at CU, whoops, sorry, poor word choice. Ya got me. I should have said, "And.
The.
Cop.
Jumped.
Up From.
BEHIND.
The.
Bushes."

Oh my god, I am SO SORRY!
How much you wanna bet the racial make-up of CU is 100% white as the driven snow, BTW?

26. Yours is not the only story over there.
I see that a poster by the name of Ralph Wiggum is passing around a pm that someone sent him about our recent tombstone.
I guess that you should just feel privileged.

23. Well, to toss in a trite platitude
Mockery is a form of flattery. They must think you're hot shit over there on CU. Or they are feeling especially uncreative and unable to generate their own lies and bullshit. Really, it's a compliment.

Your boss should really consider some form of legal action if he can. Shit like this makes me want to get into law. I watched my mom go through law school, it planted the bug a long time ago and I toy with the idea from time to time.

A kid I went to school who happens to be African American was accused and convicted of rape and served a two year bid. The parents of the girl, white and suburban brought up the charges. They didn't like their lilly white princess keeping company with :fill in the rest:. He now has the honor of being a sex offender an a felon. This shit happens everyday, every where.

24. My friend was a film courier in Los Angeles
He had to drive work prints of films directly to private screenings, etc. The police pulled him over, not sure they gave a reason. They made him unreel nearly an entire 20 minute reel of 35mm film into the street. Said he could be hiding cocaine in the film. Guess what color his skin is?

Yep.

25. This happened to an ex-boss of mine once
he got a new company car, and he got pulled over for no apparent reason. He wasn't speeding, everything was OK. But he was a black guy in a brand new nice car with a company logo on it. The car was bought out of the company headquarters so his name wasn't on the registration. It's been several years and I don't remember the details but it was a bit of a mess and he was mighty pissed off.
