I'm having an HIV test tommorow.
I'm low-risk but I'm scared as fuck! I think it all started a few weeks ago when I watched that movie Kids and I freaked out because I've never had one. I guess everyone probably goes through this...plus I get obsessed with things so easily and flip out all the time...not even the Bush* second-term looks as bad as I thought it would be when I ended up in the hospital with a rapid heartbeat on election night (no kidding).

Oh well...I guess I saw that there were so many compassionate people here (that really rocks that the goal for Andy's surgery got met) and wanted a little of that too. :grouphug:

1. What made you decide to have one?
What is it about the movie?

4. *SPOILER* They show these two girls go in for one...
Edited on Tue May-03-05 12:48 AM by LoZoccolo
...and they both get interviewed by the nurses before the test so you find out their sexual history, and the girl with the lower risk ends up having it and the other girl doesn't (as if you could not see that coming when you watch it).

5. My doctor actually counseled against it
I was in for my regular checkup, and I said I wanted a test. He asked me some questions, and said that I was so low-risk that there was no reason to have one done. I did it anyway, he said it was a waste of money, but it was my money to waste.

I knew I'd found a great doc.

7. I've had three
Scary each time. Even the time the counsellor took my history and said, "Honey, we don't really worry about people like you, but I'm so glad you're here!"

8. Good luck
I remember when I had to have one. Not a fun time and the wait for results was a lot longer back then. Hope everything goes well for you.

9. Aw, thanks.
They've got it down to 20 minutes now...which can be both good and bad, I guess. I think I'm as ready for anything as I'm gonna be though.
