DU fashion mavens - forehead jewelry?
In my office, we have a very attractive young woman that started here recently. I would guess she is early to mid 20s. She seems to dress pretty stylishly, but something she wore the other day really caused me to do a double take (And, no it was not a plunging neckline!)

But, she had what I would describe as a necklace around her forehead. A few beads in the middle of her forehead connected by slim chain.

I didn't want to ask for fear of possibly offending her, "hey, what's that on your head?"

But, is this something that is trendy these days among young women? Or, it could be an ethnic thing and I'm not sure of her ethnicity.

And, no I do not get out too often and we do not have a lot of young women in my office...

1. I keep up with fashion and I haven't seen anyone wearing such.
Maybe some weirdo celebrities, but I haven't even seen any of them wearing stuff like that (I am a celebrity junkie, guilty pleasure)

4. I don't know if it's a trend or a fashion statement among...
...a particular age-group, but it sure sounds very cool. I'd wear something like that....

5. I should have used fashion statement
I'm forgetful of these things now that I'm old.

6. Sounds like something they'd sell at a Renaissance Faire...
i have something that sounds similar that i wore for my wedding (instead of a veil). It was made out of chain mail.

Is it similar to this? http://www.eyescreamjewelry.com/item.jhtml?UCIDs=1028472%7C1223614&PRID=1473478

I have never seen them outside of Ren Faires, though.

9. It wasn't that fancy
Maybe I'll ask her next time she wears it... but, I'm not exactly Mr. Outgoing, either.

7. Maybe she just bought a necklace that was too small
and did not fit all the way over her head.
