Dick Gregory has not paid his phone bill in over 35 years!

This is according to the liner notes on the The Best of Laugh-In--Volume 2, by creator and producer George Schlatter. Apparently the FBI started tapping Dick's phone in the 1960's, and they're still doing it. So Dick decided to just not pay his phone bill--he knows he won't get cut off because the FBI is so desperate to still hear what he has to say, they won't let Ma Bell end his service. He owes about $75,000.

I wonder if I'm being tapped. I wonder if I should just stop paying and find out!

9. On the 6th anniversary of the Kent State killings

I was a freshman in college and my poly sci professor (who was on campus at Kent State the day of the shootings) told us in detail about what that day was like, and then he played a Dick Gregory recording for us.

It was one of the few memorable days of college for me.
