5. Remember Sprout, The Jolly green Giant's "son?"
Well, I wasn't his son. JGG likes his broccoli "speared..." I'll leave it at that.

7. Actually, I have a seafood allergy.
In my pocket.

It's hard to keep intangible entities in an enclosed space (especially so close to my crotch) but ever since the accident I'm capable of wondrous feats.

8. Do you think the Zodiac Killer was active before the Cheri Jo Bates
murder in 1966?

I seem to remember reading in Graysmith's book about several unsolved murders in Southern California vaguely similar to the Lake Berrysea attack in 1969 while Leigh Allen was going to school there

10. According to some sources, he was responsible for a double
murder in Santa Barbara in 1963. Again, Graysmith is the source of this info...not all Z-ologists have accepted this theory, since Zodac's pathological need for attention woulda forced him to take credit for the murders, which he never did.

Plus, that specific murder scene was the work of a fuckin professional; it'd be difficult for a first time murderer to use so many methods of killing and succeed in escaping the authorities (the killer used rope, a gun, and fire to kill the two kids.)

If it was Arthur Leigh Allen, Graysmith has never been able to place himm in SB in 63, nor have the legion of Z-ologists.

I think Zodiac was resposible for other kinds of crimes before Bates.

BTK's first murder, of the Otero family in 1974, was also complex. He managed to ambush an entire family and tie them up in a bizarre ligature that would choke them if they tried to escape (each one with the same method), so he could take his sweet time with each one without having to worry about an escape. (re: first crimes complexity)

Gary Ridgeway, the Green River Killer, was the opposite of Zodiac in that he tried to avoid attention and blend in. He even wanted to prevent bodies from being found. But he fooled FBI profiler John Douglas when he wrote a very bizarre letter to the police. Douglas decided it wasn't from the killer and the killer would never try to attract any attention. Ridgeway later admitted to writing the letter. (ie: on profiles being wrong)

I too think Zodiac was doing all kinds of stuff before Bates. But if Leigh Allen didn't kill those kids in SoCal, then it could have been the work of another bondage fetishist.(Harvey Glatman was already arrested, but he was from LA) Besides, Zodiac never claimed credit for those, but he did claim credit for Bates.

13. Y'know, Voight helped solve the BTK thing....
One more reason I dig zodiackiller.com so much.

Plus, on their message board, the poster known as "sandy," who claims to have intimate knowledge of the killer's traits and habits, etc. is a dead ringer for Corarose/GingerSnaps. She's good for a few laughs.

14. that is pretty cool
BTK was a huge fan of Zodiac and in his many letters, itself a zodiac like trait, he often mentioned zodiac and son of sam as his idols.

If I am not mistaken, I believe he tried to use secret codes too, but nothing as cryptic or interesting as Zodiac

In 2004, when he returned he left random clues hidden in a crossword puzzle.
