Dear Mass Dems Volunteer Team:

Do you want to attend the Massachusetts State Democratic Convention for free? Do you want to help kickoff our Victory ’06 Campaign dedicated to defeating Mitt Romney, re-electing Senator Edward Kennedy, and winning seats for Democrats up and down the ballot?

Well here’s your chance!

We need 125 volunteers to help with our convention on Saturday, May 14 in Lowell.

As a volunteer, you’ll see speeches from Senator Kennedy, DNC Chairman Howard Dean and others. In addition, you’ll be invited to all of the official and social gatherings the night before and on the day of the convention, which is an excellent opportunity to network with other Democrats. We even provide lunch.

And because you’ve shown early interest in our Victory ’06 campaign, you’re being given an EXCLUSIVE INVITATION to attend our first statewide Victory ’06 Campaign Information and Strategy Session on Friday, May 13th (the night before the convention) from 6-8pm at Lowell High School. At this session we will outline some of the grassroots strategy for the campaign and start empowering you with some of the tools that you’ll need to take an active role.

All you have to do is give us a few good hours for a good cause.

Volunteer activities include assisting with registration, floor monitoring and security. We need a full group of volunteers for the morning of the convention, and preferably we will want you from 8am to 5pm; however, if you need to leave at 2:00 pm that’ll be fine.

I hadn't heard about this until now. Considering I only live a 10 minute walk or so away from Tsongas Arena, to not help would just be wrong :).

My girlfriend (and fellow DU'er) has e-mailed about us volunteering but they haven't gotten back to us yet. :shrug:

Just got off the phone with Brent. He is swamped with replies. But he says everyone should go to the Friday night meeting (then you can split for the various "receptions" (parties).
