Need your help finding a song...

I have uploaded a clip of a song I'm trying to find the name of. It was featured on the "History of Rock and Roll" episode 7, "Guitar Heroes". Mark Knoplfer of Dire Straits talks over it some...I'm not sure if its a song he did...I doubt it...I checked alot of their songs on amazon. Its the song playing in the background of this clip.
Any help in finding the name and artist of this song would be very appreciated. Its a very beautiful mix of blues and middle eastern styles. Also...I probably have very limited bandwidth...i uploaded it on geocities. So, if any of you know of other places I could uploaded to to help with bandwidth please let me know...or I could email the mp3 to you. Its about 597 KB in length.

I think they have that particular video in our library. It doesn't sound like anything distinct. Without a vocal or familiarity, I can't help you just by listening to it. The end credits should tell you who the musician of that song is.

its not on the vhs edition.....
i've checked the songs....its not listed there....darn it....
it sounds alot like Jimmy page....but I know its not....he;s the greatest guitarist in the world and i know all fhte stuff he's played...and unfortunately its not him.....

I don't recognize it offhand. It could just be some 'filler" music that was recorded for the documentary.
Here is an idea. Go to the video rental place and see if you can rent it. Then at the end, check out the credits and see if it is listed.
It sounds to me like it was just a recording for the documentary, but I could be wrong.

i have the VHS tape sittin next to me...thats how I made those clips...i recorded them to my computer....
i've looked at the credits..and unfortunately I didn't see it listed...
then again...the credits flew by and i didn't have a controler..so i couldn't pause it...but I did rewind and watch...rewind and watch...rewind and watch.....

if it was recorded for the doc....wow....whoever did that is incrdible.....not only technically good...but they have soul....that song is great....

i would say its steve vai...but that guy doesn't have soul...only technical abaility...

blues.....
its got those fast surf guitar licks, but with more dynamic to it...more well rounded riffs...with that bluesy and middle-eastern feel to it.

...until my second listen. Sort of like middle east meets BB King meets Dick Dale. Cool!
