Pete Townshend's "Lifehouse".
I was watching a DVD called "Classic Albums: Who's Next" and Pete was talking about the concept of "Lifehouse" as taking place in the future where all music is banned except for muzak, trite, meaningless, lifeless music. While it certainly hasn't become law that all real music is banned, it seems to be an unwritten law with record companies that only the most trite and boring music see the light of day. So was Townshend a prophet? Are we heading in that direction? What do you think?

1. No.
Frank Zappa was the prophet, with "Joe's Garage."

Everything you need to know about the music industry is on THIS album:

Zappa was a prophet. Townshend is a rock star and a member of The Who.
