Here on DU and in the librul, progressive forums of the world, we're all on the same side. Dietary preferences? That's another discussion for another day, another time. Though, when it comes up here, I like to be in the thick of it.

I disagree with my blood family about stuff, too. Part of being human.

I've discussed political strategy with someone wearing leather shoes while they ate a Big Mac. Did I think less of them? Hell no. That's not what we were there for.

Vegans are notorious drinkers, but we can't drink some things. Cigs...never were for me, but I don't harsh on anyone's right to smoke them.

22. Well, that depends on how they view some things.

Example: a great many wines use animal products in the fining process. I avoid them.

Many beer companies promote (what I consider) cruelty...Corona and bullfighting, PBR and the rodeo, etc. I avoid them. I avoid Canadian beer now because of the government sponsored seal hunt.

Some vegans don't take it to that extreme. I try not to let my dollars support industry that's less than kind to animals.

Thanks for avoiding the veal. You would be VERY surprised at the goings-on at some of the big AR conferences. Like any other group of folks having fun...booze, wild parties, etc.
