2. Okay. I've wondered this for years.
My boyfriend adores Benny Hill. I've watched it and am dumbfounded what anyone sees in this tv show. He can't explain the fascination--can you? Is it like a Three Stooges thing?

It's about lots of pretty woman, silly jokes, hitting old man on the bald head and playing catch at ten times the normal speed.

It's brilliant!

Something about Benny:

He never changed because of his success. He continued to live in an appartement and walked to work every day and back again. He didn't own a car, because it would make him even fatter.

His best day was when he was invited to Chaplin's house. He greatly admired Charlie Chaplin and he was the first person allowed to enter Chaplin's own room. Benny sat in his chair and cried because to him Chaplin was a god and he was Chaplin's biggest fan. And then he turned around and next to the TV where the tapes and they were all labelled "Benny Hill". Charlie Chaplin watched Benny endlessly. Chaplin was Benny's biggest fan.
