A thought or few....

To all of you who are mothers, to those who wish they were mothers and to those who wish they could be with their mothers but cannot for myriad reasons, I hope you have a moment to reflect on what it means to someone that they have you in their lives. Mothering isnt only a 'by birth' thing. Mothering is what 'we' do when we love. Mothering is nurturing and caring for those close to us. (not to be confused with smothering).
Take heart, just because you didn't give birth, just because your family isn't close... doesn't minimize the fact that you are loved and can love.
I am a daughter and a mother. My mother is gone from this world now but I do have a natural born son and a foster son that I had the honour of raising. Neither are nearby, but both are always close in my heart!

Today we'll go and visit my MIL, she won't know we're there for Mother's day, but she'll have fun anyway. Hopefully my boys will call, I always love to hear from them.
