I think Roy Clark is a damn good guitar player.
He backed up ZZ Top at a concert I went to in 77. The crowd, at first, thought it was going to be "stupid", but Roy picked those strings silly and was brought back for 3 curtain calls.
The man is amazing!

1. True...
But have you seen him lately? Too much plastic surgery and red hair dye.

2. It's hard to beat those country boys -- Glen, Roy and Albert Lee,
Burton -- I think they stack up against any of them.

8. And if I recall, on his last set, he brought out Earl Scruggs!
I enjoyed that act better than ZZ Top.

9. Yes he is
We used to watch him on Hee Haw and our friends thought we were nuts until they saw him too. Then we started having Hee Haw parties. And this was back in the 70s and we were a bunch of long haired hippies. LOL

14. Only on DVD as far as I know.
I'd love it if it showed up again on Nick at Nite or even CMT. They had some great musicians on the show, and I think my kids would get a kick out of the cornball humor. My whole family tends toward the cornball.
