Hardware people! Can you recommend a mouse for me?
the mouse I'm using sucks. It catches all the time, so that when I try to move it, it will get close to where I am trying to go with it and stop. I hate this thing. Can you recommend a good mouse for use with Windows XP, or maybe a trackball? I like trackballs.

1. This might be more than what you need...
... but I love the Logitech MX510. Sometimes they sell it with the tag "gaming mouse" but it does have quite a few features you can use even if you're not a gamer.

3. Logitech Laser
Is that the same one? Just came out. No cleaning necessary, more buttons than I'll ever need. Rechargeable through it's base station, no more batteries.

5. I hated
the rechargeable mice. Too many came back with messed up batteries, and you had to charge them SO often. Maybe they've improved them recently.

8. I hope so
I've had mine for about a month, no problems--hardly even needed a charge the whole time.

But if I start having problems, I will assume you jinxed me and begin the hating.

Scroll about halfway down the page.

EDIT: The 510 isn't cordless though, if that's what you're looking for.

2. Welll....
a mouse is a mouse, XP or no.

I hate to say it, but my Microsoft wireless mouse is sweeeeeeeeeeeeet. Sweet. Had the thing for a year, changed batteries, once. AND it's black leather.

10. I love my Logitech MX1000
It has never run out of a charge. I simply place it in the cradle every night. And even when I forget to this, it still holds its charge. It's accurate and scrolls very smoothly.

13. Trackball!!!!
I used to be a mouse fan...but I got a Microsoft Trackball Explorer, and I love it. It's 1,000 percent better. Easy to use, doesn't use much space, looks cool (the socket for the trackball glows red!), and it works.

Best of all, no need to open up the mouse and clean out the crud.
