I may be a dick at times, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate DU
Seriously.

I know some people aren't reading this because I'm in their "ignore" filter.

Others aren't reading it because they saw "Bush-Eats_Beef" and said "no thanks."

And then there are others who saw the subject line and just kept surfin'...

BUT...for anyone who is reading this...you should NEVER be anyone LESS than the man or woman you ARE.

I don't care if you're Christian or NOT (I am).

I don't care if you're GAY or STRAIGHT (I'm straight).

If you are the genuine, authentic YOU, GOD BLESS YOU (and please do not take offense at that)...

In Japan, there is a cultural phenomenon called "Tatmae / Honne." "Tatmae" is the face you show casual acquaintances, business associates, etc.

"Honne" is the face you show people you LIKE and TRUST.

For whatever it's worth, when I'm on DU, I'm showing my "Honne" face.

Life is short, folks.

Be YOU. NEVER "apologize" or attempt to "fit in." BE YOU. Let the world adjust to YOU.

Just my 2 cents' worth.

4. I had one of those "It's A Wonderful Life" moments...
...ever since 9/11, we (as a nation) have slipped into this unconscionable "let's not upset anyone" mode.

The world became GREAT by UPSETTING people, by TIPPING OVER the apple cart.

6. Given the subject lines I've seen today for GD...
...you may be right.

I divide my posts 50-50 between the lounge and GD Politics. I seldom post in the plain, vanilla GD....so I don't really understand what the fuss is all about. Apparently it's about some posters who just can't agree to disagree...
