anyone else have a four day weekend coming up....
I am pumped, going to Lake Lure NC tomorrow until Sunday, one of the most beautiful areas I have ever seen. While we are up there we are going to Asheville to see the Black Keys. Lots of drinking for sure. But hey, I work hard, I deserve it. By the way, here is a picture of Lake Lure. We go there about four times a year.

1. Oh, the memories! I lived in Hendersonville, NC for about six months
in 1970. I was separated from my husband. It was a beautiful place and I went there to heal.

I had been at a camp there in the 1950s as a child. It was called Camp Osceola. I've never been about to find out anything more about it, even on the Internet. The owners were Belle and Herb Silver, from Florida.

2. Never heard of the camp you referred to....
I agree that that area of NC is a place of healing and celebrating the very thing George W. Bush is attempting to destroy. I only live about two hours from Lake Lure so we go as much as we can.

3. Well, I camped there more than 50 years ago in Flat Rock, NC.
Do you still have radio station WHKP? I think there was a fellow named Kermit there in 1970.

here you go. http://www.whkp.com/ I think it has gone conservative.

I myself listen to 88.7, out of Spindale, very close to Lake Lure, an NPR station that is amazing. You can get it online, check it out.
