I FINALLY GOT A JOB!

Woo-hoo! It's a full-time job with good health benefits at an employee-owned company in Cambridge. I've only been looking forever, working PT. Tomorrow is my last day at my 16-hour-a-week job that I like but isn't enough hours to pay all my bills. Only thing is, it's been so many years since I did a FT 9-5 gig that it's going to be really tough to get up early every day and get to bed early every night. (I'm definitely a night person.) And I'll be thrust into the real-world dilemma of how to find time to get everything done, especially things that have to be done during regular business hours. But hey, I'll finally be able to pay all my bills AND have health coverage that doesn't cost me over $300 a month. I start Monday. I'm psyched! :toast:

my daughter finally started new job/benefits last week too.

she had interviewed w/ a couple of companies that had *'s picture on the wall and decided ... uh, NO. then she got called to interview at an oil/gas company and she didn't think that would jibe w/ her philosophy too. this company she's working for even offers 'domestic partner' benefits... although her only dp is her puppy.

she is adjusting to the work hours because, like you , she had her own hours for a while ( plus at her other jobs she either made her own hours or worked from home ). she's a night owl but i told her she has to adjust or move back home!!!

so she gets up, drops the puppy off here, and goes on to work.

OH< AND NO more two hour commutes on SoCAL freeways. the job is right here in town.
