4. Oh yes, the beer is a lot better
even though I barely drink beer. I am more a wine person. I always say the alcohol just passed the American beer and said hello, but declined to stay :)

Monday is a national holiday. Pentecost if that says anything to you.

12. I'm going back to the 16th Century
The Renaissance Festival continues, and it's supposed to be hot (80F+)this weekend. I think I'll wear my lighter peasant costume.

just very good in my new noble costume. I have the one-use camera and I haven't used it up yet. It'll take a few visits.

14. That's wonderful !
I used to attend Renaissance Festivals.

If you're ever in New York State in mid July check out *Starwood* near Lake Erie. The Starwood Festival has been going on every year since the original Woodstock.

28. I haven't gone since 2002
For the past few years I've been renovating a 60 year old house.

Once you start - it seems like everything you touch needs repairing or replacing. I've got a few major jobs that really should be taken care of around here before next winter.

Honestly ~I haven't been in a Festival mood for the past few years but that's changing. I still don't think I'll be hitting any Ren Fairs this year ... the open road is calling instead of the all night bonfires.

There's always next year for the Starwood Festival.

29. It's a lucky day in our family as well!
Edited on Fri May-13-05 12:57 PM by KitSileya
My sister was born on Friday the 13th of October. My mom was asked whether she wanted her first child born on Friday the 13th or Saturday the 14th - it was about 5 minutes 'til midnight, and they figured they could hold off the birth until after. But my mom immediately insisted that my sister be born before midnight, and she was, 3 minutes before. When asked afterwards why she was so insisted, she told them - "it's the 75th birthday of my husband's grandmother; she helped raise him, and what a gift wouldn't it be to get your first great grandchild on your 75th birthday?"

So in our family, friday the 13ths are lucky.

Edited to add: Happy Birthday, unsavedtrash!
