What are we all listenning to?
The St. Matthew Passion by J.S. Bach (possibly the greatest human to have walked the earth) over here.

1. John Prine--Fair & Square
Ten years was too long between CD's with new material, but this was worth the wait.

4. nothing except
the ringing phone and chatter of people around me. i'm in a computer lab at school. i could put on my mp3 but the batteries are almost dead and i want to save whats left of them for the bus trip back to my car.

5. I could never think properly in those computer labs
Our were always too quiet; mobiles banned, officious science students glaring at anybody who talked &c.

It is ironic that whilst we have these shockingly small M.P.3 players and other electronic equipment - we still have to rely on batteries exactly the same as 20 years ago.

6. this one is too loud
in my opinion. right now it doesn't matter but when i'm trying to type a paper or something it drives me crazy.

as for batteries, i've often thought the same thing. while technology elsewhere has advanced so rapidly, why have batteries stayed pretty much the same? i would have thought that they would have found a way to make them last much longer by this time, if not found a way for us to not have to use them at all!
