David Lee Roth receives military training
ABC ePrep is reporting that former VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth just went to Fort Sam Houston, Texas — where the Army medics in Iraq are trained — for military emergency medical technician (EMT) training. Roth was being trained to transport patients to military helicopters. As previously reported, Roth is an EMT in New York, and he says that the tactics he uses as a paramedic are similar to those the military uses. He also noted that unlike some acts, he's not using his commitment to the military to get publicity for his projects.

I'm not knocking him, being a paramedic is a tough job, I work with them every day, but the only time a paramedic in Philadelphia gets any type of publicity is if it's negative, (and even that's rare)because we have a great bunch of men and women on the job.

13. Yeah absolutely I agree with you.
I guess I have nothing to say after your post, because many paramedics deserve positive publicity. All I will say that it is refreshing that someone who was a popular rockstar and could've lived off retirement and get wasted decided to do something this great. That's why I thought it was noteable, but you are right about the many already out there helping people. :)
