8. Well good. You did the right thing. If it is contagious, it certainly
needs to be treated accordingly!

2. Sounds like Impetigo
and if it is, it could be spread by touching.

3. They are bacterial colonies.
This is so easy to fix or prevent. Use antibacterial cream and a dressing, change the dressing twice day, keep the area clean. Whaddup with the kid's mommy???

9. glad to hear that...
you don't want to know about the family...(shaking my head)...but if you see post 5..I called the school and asked the nurse to take a look at it....I know it is such a nosy neighbor thing to do...but from the looks of it..it needed some care.

7. That's a REALLY BAD infection!
I've heard of that happening ... the infection gets so bad that it spreads through pus-filled pimples around the wound. That kid needs a doctor. Why isn't that wound covered?

11. Don't ask me..
the little one has had it for over a week, but I only saw it Sunday and today...

Sunday it was rather "fresh" looking...probably from a nasty fall or some horsing around with is siblings..but it didn't seem to bother him.

At the bus stop today it was really yucky..if you see post 5 you will see that I asked the school to intervene...

WTF is wrong with the parents? Your kids gets a scrape .... so break out the Neosporin, stick a bandage on it and above all, keep it clean and covered! :eyes:

on the arm by the elbow...about 5 inch long "wound"...looks like a really bad scrape or gash...probably the result of a bad fall perhaps on steps??? not sure...cuz he isn't my kid

It was partially scabbed over, but there were some weepy spots and the pimples were around the edges of the wound..and perhaps in there too but didn't get a good enough look before the bus came.

I saw it on Sunday...as he and his siblings had been booted out of their house on Mother's day so they spent the day wandering the neighborhood...my mom and I both saw it and had asked him about it but he wouldn't say anything but "it don't hurt"...it looked like it would have...

Today it looked worse than Sunday...

He is five.

It's sound like this kid and his siblings have serious problems at home. :-(

Who the hell boots a five year old out of the house? :wtf:

19. I think impetigo
can start after a wound or scab has gotten infected. Like if the kid kept picking at the scab. But it needs to be treated.
