Friday the 13 -an overview

All right here goes

Today started out pretty bad. My state government performed New England's first murder in 45 years at 2:25 a.m. this morning. I hadn't gotten much sleep last night and I told myself I didn't want to post today because I just felt completely out of skin.

But of course I check in read what people are saying and throw my two cents in here and there.

Then Bush and Co announce the recommended list of military base closings, with the naval base in Groton, CT on the block. I'm a fan of Electric Boat and militarization, but if the base closes, South Eastern CT is fucked.

Did I mention I was born on that base?

I go into the lounge to cheer myself up and the usual suspects come to the rescue and I made a new friend.

I posted a picture of myself from a show that brought me a smile when I was afraid it would bring up baggage. I left the theater on bad terms but with a little distance, I'm now able to say hey, I did what I had to do and I learned a lot.

Oh and Terry reminded me, I AM coming out to Chicago in June to meet all you lovelies.

It's been quite a day so far and I still haven't received a snarky remark from hedges or written progmom her sonnet. As far as I can see it, it can only get better from here.

It's a rather ritzy Spanish place, but it's mmmm mmmm good. There's always Sally's too, if you don't mind the wait.

I was thinking something a little more laid back. He's been walking around the city all day in clothes he slept in and probably smells like poop. Sally's is always good but I've been trying to avoid pizza these days. Got any other recs?
