Question about old cameras.
I was thinking about buying an old Kodak Instamatic camera at a yard sale recently just for the heck of it but something occurred to me. I don't think I've seen flashbulbs or flashcubes for sale in any retail outlet for some time. Do they still make them and are they available without paying an outrageous price from a collector or such? Thanks in advance.

1. Three answers
1. The question you asked about flash cubes - yes they are still available - see them occasionally on eBay.

2. The question you didn't ask -- 126 film cartridges. Kodak doesn't make them any more. There's an outfit in CT (I think) that makes them. Kodak's consumer relations office has a web site. Or you can Google it.

3. The other question you didn't ask - Some of the Instamatics take odd ball batteries. Have to Google those to find substitutions.

I bought an old Instamatic Reflex (a Retina Reflex S that takes 126 Instamatic film cartridges) - great little camera.

2. The place with the 126 and 127 film is in Philadelphia. I have the
information areound somewhere; send me a PM as a reminder, and I'll look it up tonight.

I kept the address around because I REALLY want to get a baby Rollie TLR some day, and it takes 127 film.

5. The Baby Rolleis
show up on Keh occasionally - and on eBay even less frequently. There's also a baby Yashica TLR.

Also, there is a Rollei SLR that takes 126 and that shows up on Keh and eBay "relatively" frequently.

4. Thanks
I should have remembered that about the cartridges. I stopped using my Instamatic and bought my first 35mm many years ago when the carts were becoming hard to find. Now I have a nice Minolta 35 that's just collecting dust because all I use now is my Sony digital cam. Times change.
