A magpie is staring at me through the window

Holy crap! Ten minutes ago I heard a loud noise like something hit my window. I rushed to see what is going on and saw a magpie sitting on the edge of the window staring at me.

At first I thought how cool it is to have such a cute guest but now I think there is something wrong with the bird and it might be sick. It just sits there and stares at me.

I approached it very carefully and it didn't show any signs of fear at all which is very unusual for a bird. I am affraid to touch it or bring it inside the house as it might be sick.

What should I do? How I can help the poor thing?

If you're concerned call the aspca. Sometimes it's best to leave them along.

2. It may have hit the glass, or been dropped by a larger bird

and been stunned. Wait about 20 minutes and keep your eye out for cats, they're opportunistic about birds who are stunned. Hopefully the bird will fly away, if not, at least it died in dignity without the trama of being subjected to human touch.
