2. Dialogue sucked bigtime.
To the point that I almost started falling asleep inbetween fight scenes. And any woman w/ Padme's attitude towards life and love deserves to die.
Fight scenes kicked ass but that was about it. Thank goodness there are alot of them.
Sorry for the fans out there (and I am one of them) but I actually heard people in the theatre talking about how pissed they were after the movie.

3. I don't know anyone who sees Star Wars movies for the dialog
As far as I'm concerned cheesy dialog is a given

I'm looking for action

As long as there's a lot of it, I'm happy

4. That I will give you.
I will tell you to see it but you don't have to run out immediately.
The Padme and Annikan crap will irritate you.

For political implications, there are many references to the Nixon administration and our own current administration (which made me giggle). They were all in ref. to Emperor Palpitine. It'll make a great story for all the pukes. Drink the Kool-aid and forget about your old life.
Otherwise, it was still better than I and II.

Otherwise, it was still better than I and II.

...taking a bath in hydrochloric acid would still be better than I and II.

20. I like I and II
you take JarJar out of 1 and it is kick ass. To me he is no worse than C-3PO, who I always detested. I haven't seen II in ages, but there was some bad ass shit in there too

24. Star Wars isn't Shakespeare...LOL
It's so much deeper than that, so I'm with you MrScorpio, some people just don't understand "The Force".

If that makes MOI a geek/dork/freak, be it so :loveya:

11. of course they stole the best lines from Shrub's war speeches
if you're not with me you're my enemy (DUH) etc.

so yeah, dialogue forced and wooden, like Pinocchichimp himself.

I know one little Space Cowboy who is going to be vewwy vewwy angwy when he sees it--it's all about how W seized power and is evil and won't go away and gets his followers to slaughter children, and pretending to fight for democracy when they are really establishing a totalitarian empire! The Jedi aren't strong enough to make him back down so they have to hide!

Line after line from the Pukkke talking points!

I don't know what the freeper ilk are going to do about this. If they are star wars fans they will be shamed, i think. (hah) if there's any justice!

Yeah, they sucked Padme's fighting spirit out of her. Pathetic.

12. Actually, some of the original
material made reference to the Nixon administration.
It's interesting how well his story arc was easily turned into an argument against Bush.
The references were very easy to catch.

17. I don't think anything can shame those guys.
They'll just play the martyr and say Lucas is a "dirty, commie, Librul who wants turrists to take over our country!"

10. i'm not a movie person at all but I am surprised
Reading and hearing the reviews of this movie. I didn't know George Lucas was considered such a crappy director. I guess he doesn't communicate well with the actors, hence the critics bemoan the dialogue of not just this prequel but the other SW movies as well. I always thought the shows were hugely popular, but again I dont know movies from nothing. It wouldn't be the first time popular beat out good.

19. No. I was actually quite pleased.
Granted, the acting was atrocious, but it was still way way better than the first two prequels. I thought Anakin's turn to the dark side was a bit sudden, and some of the action bordered on melodramatic, but all in all I thought it was a great film. There were even some funny bits, too. Oh, and no dialog from Jar Jar!!!

22. Saw it last night. Was the best of the pre-quels IMHO.

'course.. that could be because I got to see many of the main characters from Star Wars.. and it just kinda tied it all
together.

there were a few cheesey scenes. one actually made me
laugh out loud.. where Darth Vader clenches his fists and says "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO". heh..

anyway.. my son and I really liked it.

23. That was the worst scene in the film.
I know Vader was still a bit "human" at that point, but I thought that was unnecessary.
