God
I was talking to a guy at work yesterday that I see once a day. All of a sudden he went into a story about Einstein. It seems that when Einstein was a student in college he had a conversation with a professor about the existence of god. Einstein apparently came up with a proof that showed that god exists. According to my fellow worker it had something to do with darkness being the absence of light and cold being the absence of heat. Somehow it all added up that evil was just the absence of god. I have no idea how Einstein came to that conclusion and my co-worker probably fucked it up as many laymen do when it comes to expressing intellectual ideas. I didn't have the nerve to tell the guy that god is absent in me and I'm not evil. Instead I went into sarcasm mode, which is a natural defense mechanism that I have, and I said, "Interesting. I've often wondered about the existence of god. This job has now been worthwhile. Now I have the answer to life's ultimate question." I should have just left it at "interesting" but my brain could not catch up with my mouth. The guy is a nice guy and he was probably just trying to make interesting conversation.

1. Hmm. Not to be contrary, but
the fact that someone could pose a scientific theory proving God's existence is refreshing. Even in my lowest times, I can't help but think that something is running this show.

3. That's cool
Like I said I have no idea how the theory works. It could be pretty convincing.

2. Hmmm. I believe in God, but I don't think that evil is a mere
absence of good. Also, I do NOT think that people who don't experience or believe in God are naturally evil. Sounds like the guy just wanted conversation and didn't mean to be rude by it.

4. I'm sure that is the case
He knows nothing of my religious beliefs so I'm sure he wasn't trying to convert me.

6. Good that he wasn't trying to convert you. That is annoying.
That is why I do not just go up to people I hardly know and talk about God. But yes he did not mean anything...

7. Well, like I said
I didn't know exactly what the guy was talking about and I don't think he did, either. There's more than likely a lot more to the theory than I've been able to express.
