7. Hope they are albinos, and not "ghost moose" (see link)
Do a 'find' on ghost moose in the link below.

9. How Did You Know About The "Ghost Moose"? That's So Interesting
and kind of esoteric.

11. Didn't know about it all until 20 minutes ago. I'm intensely curious...
...and when strange things pop up online, I just have to research them.
And I love to share. :)

In an unrelated matter...don't even get between me and my keyboard when something Suspicious pops up...I'm all over it like flies on shit. :D

10. That was interesting....
My sister lives in Anchorage and it isn't unusual for them to have moose in their yard or driveway. If that happens, they just sit and wait for them to leave. If they honk the horn, they run the risk of the moose charging the car. They are nasty buggers!

12. me too...
(Live in Anchorage that is :) )

I had a mama moose in my backyard a few days ago who delivered a little baby! .. She and her baby stayed in the backyard for 3 days before they finally moved on.

I have pictures of her saved in Word, plus pictures of a mama moose that delivered twins in the same spot last spring.

I just asked on another post if anyone knows how I can transfer pics from there (Word) to here.. I probably need to create a photo album or something, right?

I've never seen an albino moose, but the Anchorage Daily News has pictures of them when residents come across them!

15. I think they are "ghost moose."
Look at all the ticks on them.

True albinos have pink eyes.

16. I was wondering about the pink eyes also.
Someone else said they might be piebald. I don't know enough about moose. All I know is that they are big and unpredictable.

18. I didn't know about ghost moose when I looked at the pic of the calf.
My first thought when I saw the calf was, "Oh my god, he's COVERED with ticks." Look and you can see them. Then I saw the post on "ghost moose" and it seemed to fit with my observation.

The color is pretty, but in this case it may mean the moose aren't in very good health.

I'm always looking to expand my knowledge of wildlife and natural history. Thanks for the info, everybody. I've learned something new.

22. Wow, cool
I used to see this group of white deer around my house---they didn't have pink eyes either (at least not that I could tell). There were always 13 of them.
