Pixies Help
Can anyone point me to evidence that the song "Here Comes Your Man" by The Pixies is about dropping the bomb in WWII?

1. ????????????????
I've never even heard that before and you're talking to someone who bought Doolittle the day it came out. Not to say I'm Pixies superfan #1 or that I know everything about them but I haven't even heard that before. It would be interesting to hear the story if it were true.

2. Me too!
I'm a big Pixies fan, but I'd never heard it before today either. But if you read the lyrics it fits. I'm dying to see more information.

I'll believe anything after finding out that Debaser was based on a 1929 movie cowritten by Salvador Dali that actually included slicing up eyeballs.

6. To be honest with you, I have no interest in this.....
I absolutely despise rock band reunions. Even those of my most beloved artists. I just think that the magic that propels to do what they do and play what they play and write what they write when they are in their twenties is drastically different than that which inspires them in their 30's and 40's. If a band continues on in a straightforward line and adapts to the changes of these ages then I am fine with that. But reunions to attempt to capture some for of nostalgia for something that didn't exist for the past 10-20-30-40 years isn't something that appeals to me.

8. On the fence
It was nice to see the Blake Babies, since I never saw them when they were first around. Saw the Pixies a few times, saw the Breeders once, and opened for Frank Black once.

So it would be nice to see them in a rock club, but at the same time, yeah, no way it's going to be like seeing them some ten or fifteen years ago.

I do think they were better together than they were apart, so I'll hold out hope. I still like Sonic Youth, after all.

9. As for Sonic Youth....like I said....
I don't particularly have a problem with bands continuing to do what they do for long periods of time if the inspiration is there. But usually bands break up for a reason and when they get back together it's for a reason to, just usually the wrong ones. Either money or even worse a shameless attempt at ego-gratification by attempting to capture the magic of ones younger years in an attempt to feel the relevance they felt at that age.

10. It would be cooler if they wrote new material.
I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Pixies fan, but I've got to say that I really like some of the stuff FB's been putting out lately. Dog in the Sand is up there with most of the Pixies stuff, IMHO. I saw him on that tour, too, and he was friggin' great.

7. Never heard that...
but I guess I can see it. After all "Bocks Car" was the B-29 that laid waste to Nagasaki.

Big shake indeed.

But I could have it confused with another song.
