our neighbor is an @$$*^!!

there are no words to describe him - they don't exist, calling him a F*ing @$$*^!! would be an insult to F*ing @$$*^!!

he's got this bug up his butt about "his property" - well, his driveway is a right of way for another neighbor, and we also have right of way priveleges...

back in april he goes and puts up a line of re-bar along the driveway, and across the driveway (blocking access for the other neighbor), then places big rocks and logs along the same.... neighbor called the zoning board on him and he had to remove the items blocking access

a couple of days later he goes and buys all this fencing - which is still sitting in a pile, unassembled - and has a freak out yelling fit when the zoning officer tells him that he needs a permit to put up a permanent fence

today my partner is mowing the lawn - there's a strip of grass between our property and the aforementioned driveway - so she's mowing it because 95% of it is our responsibility -- at the end of the strip she turns the mower around and ONE wheel touches his driveway

he comes running over and starts yelling at her - I expected her to jump off the tractor and start yelling back - but she just keeps going, and ignores him

now he's outside with some sticks and string - guess he's putting up another "fence"

I'm not one to wish ill on anyone (even bush*) - but in this case I'd consider making an expection and chance a karma backlash...

my partner is mumbling something about putting up a fence of our own - a big one 20 feet tall and paint the side that faces their house a pukey pink with gorey green stars or something...

Ive had many neighbors from hell.I would take pictures,videotape what they are doing and keep a record.Sounds like you are going to need it.

Why dont you invite her over to your place for lunch and try to work on a resolution.Maybe they have issues that you arent aware of.

on the side of the fence facing your neighbor along with the words Liberals Rule or something like that.

No doubt pissing the neighbor off would be easy, but, is that the goal here?

but it's always fun to blow off some steam with a silly suggestion that you know you will never follow through on.

it's short, easy to get through and is still the biible for conflict resolution. It won't stop him being an ass but you'll have some negotiating tools to deal with it. Do you need that right of way? Is there a mediation center in your area? Good luck!

You and yours (and your neighbor, it appears) have every right in the world to do as you please in/on this driveway, including touching lawnmower wheels therein.

What you might want to do, as this appears to be an ongoing situation, is go to your public records and find a copy of the easement or whatever document that created this covenant that runs with the land (if you need help with that, PM me). Keep a copy handy. The next time your asshat neighbor blocks or sabotages the driveway, call the cops. Denying you access to your property, an access to which you have legal right, is a crime.

so the next time the zoning board talks to this guy, they are informed as to his actions. In a very basic way, I understand where this schmuck is coming from - he wants nobody on his land. He just needs to have "his land" very clearly defined.

it is a civil matter -- however considering this guy is a first-class nut job it might not be that long before he steps over the line

another neighbor has property behind the nut-job, posted with no-tresspassing signs, no hunting signs etc. the nut-job tore some of them down and along with a buddy shot a couple of wild turkeys. the neighbor knows about it - we don't know know if he's going to take any action

my partner works at a law firm -- and she's been getting lots of info and advice from the lawyers - at the moment we can't do anything,nut job hasn't "crossed" the line....yet

this is why the jerk ended up having to move some of the re-bars...

the other fly in his ointment is utility access -- where he has his "property" marked out doesn't allow an additional 4-foot easement for the utility companies. He's essentially blocked off access to electric/phone poles

the neighbor behind him has already contacted the utility companies about this. don't know if the utilities have done anything (like write him a letter)

I'm on good terms with just about all of the people in my neighborhood except for the ones right behind me. I know these assholes have just got to be RWers. I could give numerous examples but it would just put me in a bad frame of mind. Suffice it to say you have my sympathies. Good luck.

I have the same issues.. but my neighbors call the cops on STUPID things.

I have a rather LOUD amazon parrot that screams MA!!!!! MA!!!! from when I was living down my mothers. She does this when we're outside and she wants us to come in. Last year on Fathers Day one of my nosy ass neighbors called the cops on a domestic dispute saying that my husband was beating me and the kids were screaming MA MA MA HELLLP.

Wasnt long when the cops showed up my bird started screaming it again and they then realized it was a bogus call on my BIRD. My husband knows he wouldnt live long if he so happened to raise a hand to me :) Besides.. he would never do such a thing!

Then a few weeks ago, I had my dog outside and my neighbor is a stuck up born again repuke said I left my dog outside all night and all day (which wasnt true) and then said the dog was barking the entire time. Funny, only put the dog out for 1/2 hr while I visited another neighbor.

This has sparked my interest in getting a 8' fence around my 1/2 acre of property. Cant even put my dog out to crap w/o the cops being called. So I moved the dogs lead to the other side of the house where so called nosy neighbor cant see her and I havent had a cop show up since.

I HATE NOSY PEOPLE.
