96 Tears (? & The Mysterians)
Too many teardrops
for one heart
to be crying...

Anyone got a picture of these guys? You just can't beat the garage feel of this classic-I've always LOVED the keyboard in this one. Was it a Farfisa?

(Or am I really thinking about The Seeds or The Blues Magoos?)

Psychedelic garage music from the 60's influenced a lot of today's music, it's great stuff to explore.

You're gonna cry
cry
cry
cry, now
96 tears...

1. I love that song.
Garland Jeffries did a wonderful cover of it, too.

4. Came out when I was in Memphis.
When I was stationed there in the Navy late 65 / early 66. Ever notice how you associate some songs with some things?

8. Speaking of Memphis, I have kin there. Did you ever get a chance to
see Booker T. and The MG's? They are my favorite Memphis band.

12. That song is forever linked to back-alley abortion..in my mind..
Edited on Sun May-22-05 04:37 PM by SoCalDem
That song was being played over and over and over by some cuckoo guy,in the Pizza Hut where my roommate and our 4 friends were gathered. We were there to discuss how 5 college freshmen (with NO jobs) could manage to come up with $900 for her (my roommate) to have an abortion.. Kansas University 1968..

Needless to say, every time I hear that oldie on the radio, it all floods back..

It ended up being a fiasco ..in spades..

We managed to sell stuff, clean apartments, do laundry, give haircuts, beg from families (no one told them WHY we needed the $$)..and off to Oklahoma she went.. and came back sick, and still pregnant..

so we had to start over.. by now she was almost 5 months..

Next trip..off to Nebraska.. this time it worked, but she almost died..

14. In 1970 a bandmate was shot and killed. He left behind a 16 year old
pregnant girlfriend. Clockwork Orange was a tragic band. I was their drummer.
